Maebashi is a convenient neighbourhood to crash if you're not phased travelling 18 kilometres to find central Kiryu. It has 5 available accommodations, such as the Comfort Hotel Maebashi and APA Hotel Maebashieki-Kita.

You may like to have a look at some alternative places to stay, such as the Nikko Sansui or the Hotel Route-Inn Ashikaga Ekimae. Looking for more to do? Kick back and spend the day enjoying the Yamanahachimangu Shrine and the Museum of Modern Art, Gunma. You'll find them in Takasaki, 30 kilometres to the southwest of Kiryu. This regional centre is 45 kilometres northeast of Kiryu and has a population of 16,000. If you end up hanging out for a while, continue on and check out the vibe at Iemitsu Mausoleum and Lake Chuzenji. There are numerous great hotels available to book in Nikko. Nice new building & modern rooms, friendly staff, convenient and free parking. Walkable from the train station but is uphill and not very close (probably not a good idea with bags). The property offers free transfers from the station, but only hourly and just a few times a day - I would not consider this a negative though given the hotel is affordable and taxi rides are cheap.
