Holidays in Mariveles

Yep. We hear ya. Wanderlust — it gets right into your bones. So, isn't it time you booked your next adventure? Mariveles awaits!

The nation's capital, Manila, is situated around 55 kilometres to the east of Mariveles.

Fancy a little beach therapy? Feel the salty wind in your hair as you close your eyes and listen to the comforting sounds of the ocean at Santelmo Beach. It's the best kind of medicine, and it's totally free!

You'll find a number of lovely natural attractions around Mariveles. Why not take off 45 kilometres to Malibiclibic Falls? Alternatively, you can enjoy Mother Nature's handiwork at Mt Pico de Loro, 45 kilometres away.

Even when you're on holiday, it's sometimes hard to shake off the pressures of modern life. If you'd like to clear away some of the cobwebs from your mind, leave your phone in the car and get some exercise at FAB Park.

If you're thinking about venturing outwards, head 18 kilometres northwest to Bataan. This is where you'll discover the Philippine-Japanese Friendship Tower and Mount Samat National Shrine. We also recommend stopping by Orion, 20 kilometres to the northeast, for St. Joseph's Cathedral and Robinsons Mall.

You may get the urge to set up base in Subic Bay for a while. This destination is 40 kilometres to the northwest and pretty close to the Zoobic Safari, El Kabayo Riding Stables and Tree Top Adventure. Some other nearby attractions are Pamulaklakin River and Pamulaklakin Forest Trail.

To truly experience a destination is to sample the local food and drink, so get ready to chomp, chew, slurp and sip your way around Cavite. The only thing you need to bring with you is a healthy appetite!

This region has its own cooking style centred on local tastes and traditional ingredients. You'll discover guava and mango are two staple elements in much of the fare.

You don't need to spend all night reading through the restaurant menu while in Mariveles. Dive straight in and sink your teeth into some of the regional specialties, such as sinigang (hot and sour soup) and pinakbet (vegetables in fish sauce).

'Stressed' spelled backwards is 'desserts', and we don't think that's a coincidence. There's no more delicious way to let your cares melt away than with bibingka (coconut cake), a treat often found on dinner tables here.

To beer or not to beer? That is the question. Of course, the answer should always be beer. When you're in this corner of the world, San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer is the name to say.

Straight up, mixed or in a cocktail — it really doesn't matter! One or more shots of gin will add some zing to your night out! The locals love it, and it's certainly worth a taste.

Held on the 12th of June, Independence Day holds a special place in the hearts and minds of the locals. It offers an excellent chance to learn about the country's history and have some fun while you're at it!

Located 55 kilometres to the east is Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), the closest terminal. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find it.
