I don't think Esqina Urban Lodge is considered a 4 star property. The staff were very polite but the Hotel/Lodge was not the greatest. I should have done more research before booking Esqina as I was not aware the elevator was on the 1st floor (we had to take the stairs up to the 1st floor, to access the elevator) and the elevator was very small (only fit my partner and 2 of our medium sized suitcases). The facility was runned-down but the room was clean and smelled good. The room had all the necessities but we wished the room had a closet to store our belongings and more shelf space in the bathroom. The location was perfect because it was close to all the attractions/sightseeing points and transportation but the street Esqina is on is a bit dirty. Overall, Esqina is great for individuals who don’t care for the small things and just need a place to sleep. Personally, I wouldn’t book this accommodation again because we missed having the perks of a 4 star/5 star accommodation.

We arrived and there was no staff until we walked upstairs and heard someone and asked. There was a fire alarm that went off in the middle of the night but again, no staff was available and so we guests were left standing outside until someone had the presence of mind to call the sister hotel. Very weird and a little too loose and hostel-y, which was not how it was advertised. Otherwise, the location was great and the room was clean and tastefully decorated.

Great Location & Service, But Some Drawbacks The hotel is in an ideal location—close to attractions, great restaurants, and in a safe, quiet area. The concierge service was excellent! They helped us arrange an airport shuttle and even booked our Fado reservations, which made our stay much smoother. The room was clean, but the bathroom had a terrible smell (possibly from the sewer line?), and keeping the toilet seat down and the door shut didn’t help much. Also, we were surprised that no robes or house slippers were provided. If they can resolve these issues, it would be a near-perfect stay!

Excellent place!

Great location, super close to Metro and Rossio station. Many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Very comfortable, safe and clean. All staff were great, very helpful. Highly recommend this place.

For the price, I would certainly say the hotel and room was as expected. The room was fairly small but it suited my needs perfectly for a place to return to and sleep and not need to spend significant time in. My only real complaint is that the en-suite toilet was a bit too small and cramped for me as a bigger guy and did struggle to get comfortable when I needed to use it

Great location and stay

Good location specially for first time travellers. it was vey clean and great for couple of night stay. The building is under renovation. It has an elevator but the elevator does not go directly to the ground level which is important to point to people who need an accessible building but was good for me. I would recommend this place.

This is in the prime location to visit all the tourist spots in central Lisbon. We enjoyed being able to easily walk out of our hotel right into the heart of the city. The staff went above and beyond to guide us and help make our stay exceptional.
