From Lic, travel about 150 kilometres north to find the exciting city of Klagenfurt am Woerthersee.

Spend a little time looking out at the horizon at Zrce Beach or Punta Verudela Beach.

You don't need to go too far afield to discover some outstanding natural sights. Grab your car keys and follow the road to Klek, 35 kilometres away from Lic, for a laid-back day. Or maybe Risnjak National Park is more your type of thing? You'll find it 18 kilometres away.

If your getaway coincides with a huge dump of snow, you'll see many local powder hounds packing up their cars and making their way to Platak Ski Resort.

Remember to head to other close-by sights, such as Crikvenica Aquarium and Bronze Fisherman Statue. These are situated 6 kilometres south in Vinodolska opcina. Not ready to call it a day just yet? Krk Bridge and Biserujka Cave are in Križišće, 10 kilometres to the west of Lic.

Keen to check out the Natural History Museum, City Tower and Trsat Castle? Find your way to Šodići, 19 kilometres to the west, and set up base. These attractions, along with St. Vitus Cathedral and Church of Our Lady of Trsat, are all close.

Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures, and since you're reading this, we guess you think travel is too. Combine your appetite for both by going out and tasting the local cuisine at a few of the bars, restaurants and cafés in town.
