When you see seriously stunning vistas on every TV channel, it's hard not to be too jelly. So why not spoil yourself with a getaway in Landas and experience the picturesque beaches, coastal plains, rivers and sandy beaches of Nord?

It's located 190 kilometres to the north of the nation's capital, Paris.

A day trip to Hem should definitely be a priority. It lies 20 kilometres to the north and boasts such terrific attractions as the Palace of Fine Arts, the Old Stock Exchange and Lille Grand Square.

Keep your eyes open for seashells to start a collection or try to spot small animals like cuttlefish and crabs at De Panne Beach and Malo Les Bains Beach. You'll find these fabulous stretches of coastline 85 kilometres and 90 kilometres away, respectively.

You won't have to be stuck in a car all day to see a bit of nature. Just 50 kilometres out of Landas, Polygon Wood is a wonderful place to fill your lungs with fresh air. More picturesque surrounds await at the Les Pres du Hem, 40 kilometres away.
