Life in the city driving you bonkers? Pretty sure a change of scene would put a smile on your dial again? Then whisk yourself off to Labu and chillax among the stunning rural landscapes, beaches, coastal plains and forests of Negeri Sembilan.

It lies 45 kilometres to the south of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Dengkil is overflowing with excellent sights. Found 20 kilometres to the northwest, here you'll be treated to the Putra Mosque, Putrajaya Independence Square and the Putrajaya Landmark.

You won't have to be stuck inside a car all day to experience some nature. Just 45 kilometres out of Labu, Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is a popular place to get out into the fresh air. Even more peaceful surrounds await at Gasing Hill, 40 kilometres away.

Nothing compares to the atmosphere of live soccer! See the Malaysia national football team play on their home turf at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, an impressive arena 35 kilometres away in Kuala Lumpur.

There's even more to see and do just around the corner. Nilai, 9 kilometres to the north, is known for Bangi Wonderland Waterpark and the Selangor International Islamic University College. Alternatively, if Gunung Besar Hantu and Bukit Broga Hill are more appealing, go 14 kilometres north from Labu to Beranang.

Going to Seremban? This destination is just 17 kilometres to the east. If you're staying here a little while, make sure you visit Wisma Negeri, Terminal One Mall and Taman Tasik Seremban. Also consider taking a peek at Church of The Visitation and Gunung Angsi.

Eager for some fun on the water? Then put on your suntan lotion and get involved in some swimming or snorkeling.

If you've got some nice weather, why not take the chance to explore the surrounding area's open-air markets?

Learning how to say a handful of words in the local language will make your trip through the Negeri Sembilan region that little bit smoother. Try to articulate 'Selamat hari jadi / Selamat hari lahir'. It translates to 'happy birthday'. 'Nama saya ...', which means 'I am from..', is another one you may need.
