It's 450 kilometres to the north of Washington, the country's capital.

Is there anything more indulgent than a leisurely stroll by the water's edge? Plan a visit to Jamesville Beach Park or Verona Beach State Park for a great day out.

It's common knowledge that spending time in nature can improve your well-being, both mental and physical. Keeping that in mind, why wouldn't you make your way 20 kilometres out of LaFayette to Green Lakes State Park? Chittenango Falls State Park, 25 kilometres away, is another popular choice.

What could be more enjoyable than cheering yourself hoarse at a college basketball match? See the Syracuse Orange battle for glory at Carrier Dome, located in Syracuse, 16 kilometres away. Or, experience the buzz and excitement of a live home game with the Syracuse Orange.

This destination is 35 kilometres to the south and quite close to the Cortland Beer Company, the State University of New York-Cortland and Cortland Country Music Park and Campground.
