You know how they say Japanese service is second to none? The Hotel Seiryu in Kyoto Kiyomizu takes that concept to a whole new level. Everything from the welcome tour to the hotel to the impeccably kept guest lounge to the breakfast in the library is accompanied with top-of-the-line service. Needless to say, the staff was very friendly, but they also went above and beyond when giving recommendations an d fulfilling special requests. One thing that really struck me was that the hotel is located in such a way where it would be an excellent stay for both family and couples alike. When staying here, you will be right next to Kiyomizu-zaka, the bustling sampler of Kyoto culture and delights. However, the moment you step up to the gates of The Hotel Seiryu, silence. You really can't get it better than that.

Cannot emphasize enough how AMAZING this hotel is! We had originally reserved a 3 night stay and upon an hour at the hotel we knew we wanted to extend our reservation and snagged the last room for an additional night.
