The staff at the Hideaway were all really friendly and helpful. We stayed here as a family and found the accommodation comfortable and clean. There are some quirks with the buildings being a bit older. But this didn't worry us. Hiring a car was helpful to access other shops and restaurants to suit our needs with kids but the resort has everything so not a must.

Very welcoming, staff are so very friendly, helpful, cheerful. Bus transport on roadside beside resort. Resort and rooms very clean, tidy and housekeeping staff absolutely 5 star. So enjoyed soaking up the sun at the beautiful pool. Daily activities including the 12 noon sundance which most of us joined in, lots of fun and laughter. Breakfast was wonderful with such a variety of food to choice from. Only downside was the choice of dinner meals I feel they needed to change the selection more frequently. Allmin all a wo derful holiday and will return.

We stayed at the Fiji Hideaway for 7 nights breakfast included. The grounds, gardens, beach and pool area were great, beautiful setting and very family friendly. The staff are super friendly, engaging and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel has entertainment on every night and plenty of activities each day if you wish to take part. One of the best features we loved was the spa with a superb choice of treatments at very affordable prices and a quality service. All off site activities were easy to arrange at the front desk. A few negatives we experienced: - one of our bures had a faulty lock which meant if you left you couldn’t get back in. This was highly annoying over the first two days and a promised fix never happened, but we were relocated to an alternative room on day 2. - the breakfast service was very casual and disorderly, in particular we ordered food that was not delivered, orders were mixed up, we had to chase servers to order, there were insufficient cups, glasses, bowls to meet the number of diners. - there were requests for clean towels that went ignored on multiple days. - the bedrooms were okay but the bathrooms were noticeably worn out, grubby looking tiles and surfaces, broken fixtures, loose toilet seats, very poor standard. Still we enjoyed the stay overall and the resort met our expectations as a 3 star hotel giving value for money.

Absolutely fantastic value for money. Lovely resort that’s great for families or couples. Not over crowded. Fantastic snorkeling and reef walks. If you are after the true Fijian experience without needing all the luxury amenities….you have come here to experience the Fiji islands after all…this is paradise. We are already booking here for next years…but 3 weeks this time. Well done Hideaway Resort and Spa. A++++

The Good - Lovely gardens, and staff were happy to help with any needs (including helping with tours). The price was fair. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The free entertainment was quite good at the main restaurant. We slept well due to a nice comfortable bed. The Average - The food was OK, but nothing great, and was often served Luke warm at best. The pool area was quite nice, but the water was colder than expected. The staff were lovely, but very slow (probably the reason for the Luke warm food). Accommodation was clean enough, but our beachside Bure was aging and a bit run down. The bad - No microwave or any cooking facilities in the Bure. No TV or wi-fi in our room (wi-fi was only in the restaurant area). Although the beach was OK for snorkelling and kayaking at high tide, it was extremely shallow and turned into nothing but sand & reef for much of the day.

Fijian experience

A family of 4 with kids 11 and 8 stayed at Hideaway resort for 3 nights. I booked this hotel after reading great reviews and I wanted my kids to experience the Fijian culture for a partial time of our vacation in Fiji. You get what you paid for. This sums up all reviews. First impression was bad when we arrived as the receptionist was rude and when we got to the partial ocean view bure, the washroom wall was infested with hundreds of ants and everything looked dirty. Dirty wall, mouldy ceiling and tiles in the washroom, dirty toilet…The rooms need updating. After I reported the ant issue, a very nice cleaning lady came in with the insect repellent and sprayed way too much of it that the smell of the chemical stayed in the washroom for awhile… Ants kept reappearing… We told the kids that it is more like camping. But the swimming pool with the water slide and the view of the ocean was AMAZING. Kids loved it. The breakfast was also great as you get to order a choice of eggs, sausage/bacon/baked beans and fresh fruits and bread/pastries. The people who worked in the restaurants and cleaning ladies were kind. We did kayaking which was the best and the kids enjoyed playing on the beautiful beach everyday. You come to Hideaway to witness the beautiful scenery!

One night there were people partying until 2am in the family part of the resort which i believe should of been addressed by the resort staff and stopped as nobody got any sleep.

What a relaxing holiday! The resort staff made us feel right at home and even pitched in to help with a marriage proposal. Beach amazing and extra activities fun. If you are looking to do nothing but chill then this is the perfect place. Tennis court is non-existent, pool table was out of order as was the table tennis. But overall it was a fun home away from home, would definitely come back. Bula Bula.

One of the single bed in the room is not useable. Food overpriced. I was lucky i hired a car otherwise i had to spend 100 more on dinner while i ate outside with better option with half of price.Free breakfast can only order once the waiter didnt inform so we could order more. Beach wasn't plesant at all. Swiming pool kids slide need to check by the safety inspector as its really not designed properly and mykids hurt during the slide. Swiming pool open till late but towel service close very early. Its very inconvenient.

The staff at the Hideaway are so friendly from as soon as you arrive you feel welcome. The bure was standard nothing fancy. Breakfast buffet was average but was included in the rate. Overall a lovely stay with the beach nearby. This place could do with lots of upgrades. With the upgrades this place could be amazing!

We had *such* a good time at the Hideaway. The location is beautiful - amazing coral straight off the shore and a lovely beach. The staff were fabulous, really helpful and fun. The resort is a bit older and not glamorous but the setting and the activities more than made up for it. The food was generally good, particularly the Japanese grill. Prepare to relax, to laugh a lot and to have a great holiday!

All the staff were wonderful. Our second time there and they remembered our names and couldn’t have looked after us any better. The Kids Club staff were brilliant (shout out to Isi and Tash) who cared for and loved our grandchildren each time they went. One of our grandchildren had their birthday while we were there and they made it so special for her, even organising a cake. Friendly and genuine. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Sigatoka is a 20 minute bus trip (for all of $2!) to get supplies and visit the market to grab all the fresh fruit you want. You won’t be disappointed. We’ll be back.

I feel like the pictures posted for this accommodation is slightly misleading. The deluxe room we stayed in didn't even have any wifi and typical amenities such as cotton ear buds, etc. The western food on their menu was quite bland and distasteful, however, the local/indian selection was quite nice. The service itself was quite abysmal as we often had to wait at least 30 minutes before food had arrived. Overall it was okay, but I did feel misled by the photos. The only saving grace for this place is the people that work there. I've never met such fun, lovely, and hospitable people before!

The facilities are pretty run down - lots of mould in the bathroom, 2 days of brown water coming from the taps, we had to turn away from the looks of the electricals outside of our bungalow as it looked rather dangerous. The staff is friendly personally but very slow in service or attending to a request. The staff members at reception and the maid exempt. We still enjoyed our stay as the resort is very relaxed and kids friendly. We would not come back though.
