Great hotel, centrally located, well maintained, excellent breakfast. Abagail and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Only thing preventing me from a full 5 stars is the beach was not as nice as Chaweng beach further south. The water was too shallow, as well as rock and weedy in some places. But if you don’t care too much about swimming in the ocean this hotel is awesome.

Loved it here. The breakfast was great, coffe fresh juices, American or Thai breakfast. They had fresh fruit yogurts too. The hotel also provided (with a fee) affordable airport transport. Helpful with water sports as well.

It’s funny when you are in Samui you don’t want to spent too much time in your room, so why bother with a nice hotel? You will be happy you decided to stay here, the room is spacious with a massive bathroom (equal size to the bedroom) with a deep bath and large bench space for toiletries and makeup. Then you venture to the back of the hotel for a relaxed breakfast with a menu that varies daily overlooking the spectacular pool and ocean front. Enhancing the tranquil environment the pool is surrounded by waterfall, frangepani trees and day beds for relaxing and of course the bar.

We loved this place. Resort is not too big. Great location and on the best part of the beach. Breakfast was great. Would have been nice to be on the upper floor to get at least some view. Deck furniture wasn’t very comfortable, but the entire resort was great.

Room was nice, cleaned well daily, good airconditioning. Pool area very tight; hardly any pool deck, few lounges — not as it looks in the pictures. Breakfast was good. Area of Chaweng beach is shabby— doesn’t feel like an island getaway.

Staff were very welcoming. Property is in a great place in Chaweng- on beach and close to Main Street. The service was good but hotel is a little dated and could do with newer towels and sun loungers. Shower was a bit old fashioned but ok. Breakfast was ok. The hotel landscaping is really pretty but the best thing about the hotel is the attentiveness of the staff who really want to help

Great authentic Thai hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were really welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, right on the beach. We ate lunch on several occasions, there was plenty of choice on the menu, the food was great and not expensive.

We were very pleased with our stay at Dara Samui. It is clean, the breakfast is incredible and ample, and the staff is second to none. Chaweng Beach (the street area) wasn’t my taste, but there are a lot of restaurants and bars. It’s great, it’s just not my speed. That said, when you get to the beach at Dara Samui, you can’t hear the noise of the street at all. What made the experience so fantastic was the staff. High praise to them!!
