Excellent

The stay was overall excellent and I have only one complaint. During dinner my wife asked for the cheese board and specifically stated no blue cheese,in delivery, blue cheese appeared. When mentioned waiter stated she would inform the kitchen didn't even attempt to change the cheese or take it away. A little thing but not what I would expect from such an establishment.
Overall tbe hotel has a nice atmosphere and ambiance, however major issues: there is no air conditioning or was 25 degrees in August a small table fan isn't enough it was too hot. 2nd the dinner at took over 1 hour to arrive with a child being served at 9pm we complained they gave the dinner for free. The food was very good as was the breakfast - these little things were enough to annoy me and leave a review Shame
We had a lovely 3 night stay, food and service were excellent. Staff were very friendly and could not help enough. Only small negative was the lack of aircon in the room, it was particularly warm and the fan provided just pushed the hot air around
Our stay was fine, but the room was unbelievably hot even though it was an averagely hot evening. It was as if the heating was on! There was a fan in the room but no air-conditioning whatsoever, which is odd considering this is a hotel that sports people stay at. Plus, there was absolutely no drinking water in the room at all.
Staff were friendly, efficient, happy and really looked after us well. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, food was stunning, great choice, super quality. The spa area was fab, just what we needed, only used the pool and steam room though. Rooms were great, really comfy beds and bedding. Would definitely recommend!
Great room (comfy mattress and pillow), bonus access to the pool, sauna, steam room and jet pool. The offering at the bar and restaurant were good, we opted for breakfast and glad we did as there was a nice selection. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Can’t fault it, it was a great hotel.

Disliked: Cleanliness
We arrived and were greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful man on reception. Check is was no problem however our room (57) was very clean - large hair on room service menu, dust on surfaces and only own towel. Went back to reception and the same man apologised and moved us to another room (8). This room was much better. We went to the pool which was nice but the changing rooms could do with updating/a good clean. We had dinner in the bar and the food was good but some of the younger staff seemed aimless - standing around chatting in the restaurant entrance and even though one was stood behind the bar, they couldn’t serve us as they were under age. Why are they then behind the bar? Saying that, some of the staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful
Turning up at a ‘4 star’ hotel with staff in the reception area who didn’t greet us, carrying on their own conversations then just stood and said ‘checking in?, pointing at the iPads. We wasn’t fast enough so she was then a little condescending. This was our first let down. We were given our keycard with our room number on then told to go up the corridor and upstairs to find our room. We weren’t told about any amenities, wasn’t told about any treatments or how to book them. Considering this was why we came. Our room smelled of sewers, but with the frosty reception of the front staff it wasn’t even worth complaining as we felt like we’d be looked down on.
We looked around the hotel to look for the swimming pool, spa area and restaurant ourself.
Upon walking into the spa area we were greeted by a young chap who advised us of the pool, but then we enquired about treatments as we’d booked the ‘spa hotel’ to enjoy a bit of pampering, for him not to be forthcoming with any info and just said ‘come back and we’ll see what time spots we’ve got left’ it felt like closing time at the bar and last orders were going to be called and the staff were ready to go home, eye rolling and customers who walked in. This was at around 5pm. So we booked a table at a local pub. The code on the keycard was not the code for the exit barrier. It was printed on the barrier itself. (Car safety)We didn’t go in pool and didn’t have treatments we may as well have booked a premier inn!
