Holidays in Klamath River

We're here for a good time, not a long time! So pull your socks up and book that trip to Klamath River. It's a perfect gateway to the impressive beaches of California.

It's located 3,800 kilometres to the west of Washington, the national capital of United States of America.

The serene sounds of the natural world await you at Applegate Lake. It lies just 35 kilometres away, so you won't have to be on the road all day. North Mountain Park, 40 kilometres away, is another recommended option.

Leave a cloud of white powder in your wake as you zoom down the trails at Mount Ashland Ski Area. Powder hounds will also want to take a look at Mount Shasta Ski Park.

If you head 20 kilometres southeast from Klamath River, you'll find Yreka. Lots of travellers like to use this place as a base to check out the Siskiyou County Museum and Yreka City Hall.

Grants Pass sits 75 kilometres away from Klamath River and is a vital part of the local area. Close by sights include the Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce, Schmidt House Museum and Grants Pass Welcome Center. Still got time to kill? Schroeder Park and Riverside Park are also within reach.

An exciting way to explore the greater region is to go on an outdoor adventure. Rock climbing is one of the most popular pastimes in these parts. But if that doesn't quite take your fancy, you could always go mountain climbing.

If you're feeling a little on edge, take the chance to head out into the open and go cycling. Alternatively, picnicking might be more suitable.

Okay, there's something special about getting lost on your travels, but every now and then it's rather nice to get to where you need to be on the first try. To avoid any bothers along the way, book some cycling tours, segway tours, culinary tours and winery tours.

Getting to your flight on time can sometimes be challenging. That said, it won't be too bad if you've got a plan. The closest terminal, Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO), is 370 kilometres to the southeast.
