I chose this hotel as it was very accessible to the conference centre where I was attending a conference. I was pleasantly surprised with the room - it was clean, very spacious, comfortable bed. Nice views (though dirty windows). The room even had a kitchenette in it (but with a note that no cooking allowed?!). Lovely big bath and separate shower. However hotel as a whole has appearance of neglect. Pool was nice but needs a good scrub…whole exterior of hotel looks crumbly and dirty/likje it is slowly moldering away. Roof top area and pool bar not functioning. Overall just seemed like a place that had seen better days, many many days ago…Sad, as it has great potential and it looks like it was built to a quality standard. It served the purpose I needed, but if I were to return as a tourist, I would most definitely not choose to stay here. A fair distance from town, nothing much to speak of in near vicinity….the saving grace being the cheap taxi’s one can get in Kuching.
