We had a fantastic stay! The hotel’s lobby was beautiful, our room was sleek and comfortable and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. I’d highly recommend it and would certainly stay again in the future!

I didn’t feel safe. It smelled like cigarettes. The walls and floors were filthy. 10/10 do not recommend

The young man working the overnight front desk should be running his own hotel one day! I’m rarely impressed with professional acumen, kindness, and sincere effort to go above and beyond. I literally watched this young man treat a dozen or more people checking in with such professionalism that I was astonished. The rooms are extremely big, super clean and they have an indoor pool, I however, it was freezing cold.. the breakfast exceeded expectations. I think it’s a wonderful hotel at a perfect location and definitely a competitive price. If I ever roll through Des Moines again, I will stay at this property.

Cons: So the door to our room was super hard to open. Most of the stuff in the kitchen was missing. There was no way to clean the dishes or use the dishwasher due to soap missing and went to the front desk and no one could find it. No blankets on the beds only sheets and blankets for the sleeper couch. The grab bar in the shower was unusable because the bolts were lose and coming out. The hotel is renovating which is great. The biggest issue was on Mother's Day they were painting no a huge big deal but there was nothing posted about it. We go in the elevator due to my husband being a disabled vet not able to use the stairs and a daughter with asthma. The toxic fumes in the elevator were so bad we were stuck in our room and my daughter had a severe asthma attack. Everyone got headaches but couldn't go anywhere due to the elevator not an option. So spent most of my Mother's Day in our room and the fume even got into our room. I asked what was being done and was told by front desk that they were going to reach out to management. Nothing and then when I asked for someone from management to call me nothing. This was the wirst Marriott stay to date and makes me rethink ever staying with them again which sucks because we have loved staying with them in the past

Breakfast was fresh and good. Wonderful firepit and so relaxing! Hottub was broke down. But had a very good time.
