It's well known that Aussies are pretty laid back, so consider chilling out a little longer and going to the Kushi Kannon-do Temple and Warumi Ohashi in Nago, 25 kilometres to the southwest of Iji. If you're keen to spend a few nights in Nago, consider the Hotel Yugaf Inn Okinawa and Seven Residence Yabu. Alternatively, you could stay in Motobu, 30 kilometres to the west of Iji, where you'll find the Motobu Green Park Hotel and Golf Course and Centurion Hotel and Resort Vintage Okinawa Churaumi. Travel 80 kilometres southwest and you'll come across Naha, a regional centre with a population of 300,000. While you're in this neck of the woods, you'll be able to whip out your selfie stick and get your tourist on at the Ruins Of Enkaku Shineato, the Bezaitendo Hall and Ryutan Site. Kinjo Dam and the Sonohyan-utaki are a few more which are sure to offer up some envy-inducing photo ops. Ever spent a night on the airport floor cos you got too excited and didn't book your hotel? Save yourself a cricked neck and see if you can score a room at the Pacific Hotel Okinawa or the Route-Inn Grantia Naha. Neither are far from Naha Airport, which is just 80 kilometres from Iji's centre.
