Life tip: Get up, stretch, book an Okinawa hotel, grab a taxi to the airport, hop on a plane, never return. Or something to that effect. While it'll be tricky staying right in the centre, there is accommodation close by. Select from 2 hotels within 10 kilometres of Benoki's heart.

If you're hoping to sleep as close as possible to all the action, the Ada Garden Hotel Okinawa and Okuma Private Beach & Resort are fabulous choices.

Some other hotel options include the Kanucha Bay Hotels & Villas, which is 30 kilometres from downtown, and the Pricia Resort Yoron, which is 30 kilometres away. If these don't float your boat, we'd recommend you have a look at the Hotel Route-Inn Nago, which is 35 kilometres from the downtown area.

Nago is another place where you can kick back and order up room service like a boss. Sitting 35 kilometres southwest of Benoki, it's where you'll find the Kushi Kannon-do Temple and Warumi Ohashi. Some of our recommended Nago hotel options include the Hotel Yugaf Inn Okinawa and Seven Residence Yabu. 35 kilometres to the southwest of Benoki you'll also find Motobu, home to the Motobu Green Park Hotel and Golf Course and Centurion Hotel and Resort Vintage Okinawa Churaumi. Warumi Bridge and Arashiyama Observation Deck are popular sites to see for those visiting Motobu.

Sitting 85 kilometres southwest of Benoki is Naha, a regional centre with a population of 300,000. It's home to some sweet attractions, like the Ruins Of Enkaku Shineato, the Bezaitendo Hall and Ryutan Site. Kinjo Dam and the Sonohyan-utaki are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some photo ops. Naha offers places to stay that should suit most tastes and budgets, including The Naha Terrace and Loisir Spa Tower Naha.

Naha Airport sits 90 kilometres from the centre of Benoki. If you're ready to drop after the flight, you'll be over the moon to discover that there's some awesome accommodation nearby. The Pacific Hotel Okinawa and the Route-Inn Grantia Naha are just a short ride away.

Lovely and peaceful resort with friendly and attentive staff. The food is excellent and the surroundings are beautiful. It is worth exploring the area outside the resort too as there are a few interesting shops and restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk. For non-Japanese speakers, please have patience as most of the staff have limited/no English so planning is needed when arranging restaurant reservations or booking trips. Also note that some trips appear to only accept Japanese speaking guests. In our case we just got the route maps from the village tourist office and worked our own way around Yanbaru forest. Overall, it was well worth the visit.
