Beds hard and pillows very firm so not a great sleep. Clean rooms and reception areas
We were in room 220 - this was at the other end of the hotel away from reception. On arrival (approx.15:45pm) we had to manoeuvre our cases around dirty bed linen and trolleys. Outside the door to our room were 4 x black bags full of rubish. I originally picked this hotel as a ‘carvery’ was advertised. However upon arrival we were told that ‘the carvery is not on this evening’. So we thought we’d just have a couple of drinks in the bar. At this point we were informed the bar wouldn’t open until 6pm. Eventually we decided to drive to another pub (back near Gatwick airport) and we ate there instead. In the evening when we got back, the room was hot and stuffy with no A/C and no way of opening the window. We were both relieved to leave in the morning!

What was wrong that there was no air in the room, we couldn't open any windows. The TV was set to a different language as English so we couldn’t watch anything at the evening. The food was expensive so we didn’t eat there at all. Otherwise it was clean, quiet and good for 3 nights.
Great place to stay, my tv didn’t work in my room spoke to a lovely person named Hazel, from reception, she resolved the problem by moving me next door and made sure my tv worked. Thank you .

Disappointing stay
Rooms are very small and very hot. Secondary glazing had been installed but was not sound proofed. Weeds grew within the original frames. Bath was tiny with very high sides and no rails to help you get in or out. As a short person it was a struggle. When we arrived there was piles of dirty laundry pukes outside the door so. The corridor which remained until after we went to bed. I tripped over a packet of toilet rolls. Clearly a health and safety and fire risk . Beds were uncomfortable and had clearly seen better days , the mattress needed replacing you could feel the springs. The outside of the hotel was very run down. Food was medocre, pub didn’t open until 6pm and the restaurant was closed. . On the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful and everywhere was very clean . Clearly catering for the airport traveller and wanting to make a
The hotel was due to close for refurbishment but NO-ONE told me before I arrived or on arrival. Restaurant closed, bar supplied very limited, failed to inform me that breakfast (pre booked!) want available on Sunday morning leaving me with no food before a days work. Manager disinterested and facetious. Written complaint to Customer services has still not been responded to! Shouldn't bother refurbishing - just shut it down! Will never book with this organisation again.
The hotel room was airless, overheated with no windows to open to refresh the dry / stale air in the room. In addition there was a chemical / paint smell in the room that left a taste in the mouth and induced restless sleep and a headache.
In view of the landing time I decided to have an overnight stay before I drove home. The booking was made at short notice and lived up to the description on the website. For me this was a basic but comfortable hotel. Arriving in the dark it was essential that I used Google Maps to find it. Breakfast buffet was excellent and cost £11.

The hotel its self was very nice and grand but the beds were very uncomfortable to sleep in. The food was okay, but the service in the hotel was very good.
If you’re going to walk there please be careful As you walk on main road and through mud but overall it’s so quiet staff are nice
One staff member upgraded me for free after I’ve walked and waited till 3pm for check in. I would recommend if you want some where nice
We stayed overnight on our way to the airport so we didn't really spend much time. The settings and location was amazing and the building architecture looked great - I can only imagine at day light it would have been quite the setting. The room was perfect and comfortable for a family of four and the bathroom/shower was immaculate and modern.
good all round value, queen sized bed for my single person room and adequate space. water in room nice and hot despite low season patronage. Could there be a bath mat as well for the next time ?
Pros
The location is quite , the facility was nice and cozy,
The room was clean,
Cons
No usb chargers in my room. No Wi-Fi you have to buy it for $9/night. It is far from the city , No shops or restaurants around it . If you drive it is no problem.
