Everything is this unit is fine, though it is in serious need of a renovation. The finishes and furniture is very well used. The televisions are almost impossible to navigate. Overall, the building is what needs the most work. The corridors were never cleaned the entire week.

BEST LOCATION ON WAIKIKI BEACH. WE HAD A GIRLS TRIP ON THE MEXICO AND BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERNS WE DECIDED TO COME TO HAWAII INSTEAD. WE BOOKED THIS CONDO & 24 HOURS LATER WE ARRIVED. The hosts were super helpful with questions I had and responded quickly. The condo had everything you could think of from beach chairs to coffee filter. Also it was nice to have a washer and dryer we could use. BEST OF VIEW IN THE WHOLE CITY IN MY OPINION. I can’t wait to bring my family back.

Overall, the experience was really pleasant! Phenomenal views, and it was a great reason for all of us to get together. The rooms were a little smaller, but being in Honolulu, the focus was really on hosting, and this was the perfect spot for it.

Amazing view! The place could use a few touch ups and there is a smell of sewage coming from the vent by the washing machine but otherwise great. The AC in the living room is also a bit loud, as is the door to the balcony.

Communication from rental company was good. The penthouse unit we rented was tired and very dated. Curtains had missing hooks, toilet seat was broken. Beds were horrible! A/C in the living room/kitchen area could not keep up, especially if you had the curtains open to look at the view and the heat from the sun came in. Even though it was a 3 bedroom I found it overpriced for the condition.

Amazing Patio and View but Ready for Refurbish

This could have been a 3 star review, but patio and view are so great, I rounded up. We've stayed at the Ilikai numerous times and love the location and facilities. Having three bedrooms and everyone together was great. The location is just as advertised with the large Hawaii 5-0 patio and beautiful ocean, lagoon and harbor view. Inside, the large open living room is nice, but the condo is lacking in charm, warmth or style. The most prominent piece of art is a discount store style painted list of manners (see photo). The bedrooms are small and plain. They had sheets, but no blankets (anywhere in the condo). The kitchen is nice, but is sparsely stocked as if they don't expect anyone to actually cook. The cookware, utensils and cutlery were okay. There were a few mismatched champagne flutes, but no wine glasses. We were grateful when requested blankets and wine glasses were promptly delivered. Hosts were very responsive. There was salt and pepper, and that's about it (no coffee, no herbs, etc. that are common in VRBOs, especially top-dollar penthouse bookings). Unfortunately, the upkeep of the suite is lacking. The walls had food splatter on them from prior guests, the couch has torn fabric hanging down from the underside, the cable box and cords are wedged between the tv and the wall dangling down above the floor, etc. It's an epic suite but isn't furnished or maintained in epic condition.

This location is great and the views spectacular . Large dust bunnies came out of the A/C units when they were first turned on and the ceiling in the kitchen was dusty. The rooms are rather small ,beds not very comfortable or sturdy my husband is 6’1 190 I thought the bed was going to break just when he was turning over in it. Kitchen only has a small bar sink which made it a little difficult to prepare meals and clean dishes. Also the tools in the kitchen were not very sufficient. This also made it difficult to prepare meals for 6 adults. If you’re not going to spend much time in the kitchen and don’t care about room space this place is for you.

The condo was absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't show you enough on what this property has to hold. The only thing we had an issues with was, it says it sleeps 6 people. In reality it only sleeps 4 comfortably. But other then that, there are no complaints. We would definitely rent again. Thank you

Hawaii 5-0 Penthouse Condo

So simple to check in. Bypass the front desk at the Ilikai and enjoy the gorgeous view. Easy check in and out. Roomy and safe for children. The view is the best, the location is awesome, close to shops and groceries. Has a kitchen and washer and dryer that makes the stay even better. Loved the stay.

Beautiful View!

We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous penthouse condo. We celebrated my sister's 50th birthday and our group was all female (ages 22, 50, 56, 58 and 81). Conveniently located near dining, shopping, lagoon and beach. Great for watching the fireworks (Friday evenings at 7:45pm) from the Lanai. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of servingware, utensils, pots & pans. Large dining table and couch - good for 5-6 people. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, but we don't spend a lot of time in those areas while on vacation, so not a big issue for us. Lobby level of the Ilikai has a shop where you can get groceries, toiletries and paper goods. Would definitely stay here again for a girls trip, 2 couples, or family vacation.

Stunning Views

What a wonderful stay! Just as advertised, the location was perfect and the view was spectacular. From the beautiful sunsets to the Friday night fireworks, we could not have been happier. Not worth it

I want to start my review by mentioning that I'm a full-time world traveler and a vacation property host myself. Unfortunately, the host for this property could not be less accommodating from the start. Even though they said they could accommodate a 30-minute early check-in at first, they told us a firm no upon arrival. When I reminded them about a promise, they said - okay, fine. Their "rules" state that guests should book an extra night if they need an early check-in or a later check-out. I actually tried to book an extra night, but my messages were unanswered. When I asked for a 2 hours later check out, even though they had no one checking in the next day, it was a straight-up no. While the views from the penthouse are five stars, the service and communication are between 1 and 2 stars. You get an automated message during the weekend that they will get back to you on the weekday. The property itself is equivalent to a 3-star motel. AC is so old that it is just blowing freezing air straight at you that no matter what temperature you set it for, it will remain the same unless you turn it off, and then it will get hot and humid. Everything in the apartment is old, and nothing feels luxurious, especially for the expensive price you pay. Even though the views are spectacular, I suggest looking further, as you will find nicer rentals in the area for lower prices with hosts who would be happy to accommodate guests' requests. Great location and view!

This was the best for three couples in Waikiki. The location is amazing and the place is so cozy, would love to stay again. Also on Friday at 7pm there was a fireworks show across in the lagoon area, which had great views from the penthouse

Breathtaking Views!!

The views in this Penthouse are even better in person. location of this unit to everything was perfect. Nice stocked kitchen. Entertaining space was very spacious. You are able to watch shows from the balcony which was also so nice. Where this unit fell short of expectations is a few simple maintenance issues. Pics have been sent and hopefully these few things will be addressed.

I would give this place 5 stars. There really wasn’t much wrong with staying here after all your in Hawaii. This was our first time and I’m happy I got this place. The view is spectacular you can’t get any better. I think the price justifies the view. I have so many pictures from the balcony and I spent every night out there and my kids loved the fireworks on Friday night. A prior review stated the beds were hard and they are but we didn’t mind because we were so exhausted after each day we crashed. I booked this place with a washer and dryer so I could wash our swimsuits and clothes but the dryer didn’t seem to work very well. It just wouldn’t dry that great but again not a big deal not enough to make this any less than 5 stars. The location is great I loved the harbor front as well, very scenic. Close to the mall. Thank you for making this a memorable family vacation.

Great view but needs improvement

The view is great and it was a great location. We parked at the marina parking and paid in advance for parking and had in and out privileges. I would stay here again but there are a few things that need to be improved since it’s a “penthouse”. The air filters in the ac needs to be changed out. If you shut off the ac as it cools very well, there is a very foul sewer odor that permeates the air. If u turn the ac on then the odor goes away. The bathroom door lock has to be jiggled a certain way to lock it. The couch needs to be cleaned, it had an odor and black dust was falling off it when u moved a certain way. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The door to the washer and dryer is very inconvenient since it is a sliding door. Besides these minor inconveniences we enjoyed our stay here.

Property has great views; is dated and should have some artwork at a minimum. Clean but burned pan and dirty knifes. Had to purchase a pan to use. Frig did not keep food cold, but after call, repairman fixed. Security posted notices that someone compalined that we had placed bulky items in trash. Not so. Also that some one had smoked on the floor. Could be, but not us. Overall, great place for views. Air worked great. Good kitchen. Would stay again

The view from the balcony was amazing. Fireworks were beautiful and loud. We would recommend hanging blackout curtains in the living room/dining room area. My 82 year old Aunt had a hard time with the glare on the tv during the day. No dresser or place to put clothes and no tv in one bedroom. We walked in and found a dirty orange rag hanging in the bathroom. Place is smaller than it appears. Way over priced.
