We truly enjoyed the location! Great for anybody who wants to spend as much time on the beach. Not too close but still in walking distance to busy touristy area. It was right next to the zoo. ABC Store and some cafes are right at the foot of the hotel. We opted out of the expensive and crowded trolley system. Instead, we purchased Holo card from ABC store and used public transportation such as TheBus and the new and wonderful Skyline!!! Soooo much fun for any train fans. There are bus stops on the same block with the hotel. We even went to the Saturday Farmer’s Market using theBus. The first hotel staff who checked us in was difficult to understand. We requested the room to be cleaned every day because she asked, but instead the maid (who was great) only came once in our 3 night stay. We had a room with partial ocean view. The front lady suggested us to upgrade, but we declined. When we stepped in our room, a full view of the Diamond Head welcomed us!! We were so glad we didn’t upgrade. You can see all the ocean you want on the beach. But you cannot really see Diamond Head from there. Elevators were very slow and sometimes too full, so guests had to wait for the next one. Some functions were not in operation such as in-room safety box, poolside bathroom entrance, and water refill station. The building is older just like any others in the area. But the price was great and we felt we received much more than what we paid. Will definitely return in the future.

The beach is right across the street. The zoo & aquarium is walking distance from the hotel which was great for traveling with my 5 year old! The hotel is central to restaurants and shopping. Transportation was super convenient whether we used Uber or booked a tour.

Very mixed feelings about this hotel. Housekeeping was extremely nice. Location is also great with free street parking nearby. Rooms are outdated and carpets definitely dirty. Our smoke detector went off on a false alarm and we had to wait 20 mins of loud blaring for maintenance to show up (very friendly guy). He had to changed the alarm out, the old alarm was installed in 2001 and expired in 2011, yet still not changed out until it failed 14 years after its expiration. We also had a giant 3 inch cockroach in our bathroom, housekeeping was nice enough to come take care of it so I didn't have to squish it. We thought it came through the window since our balcony was left open all day. But we ended up finding a bunch more cockroaches all over our suitcase once we left for the airport. Now we need to spend time looking through everything in our luggage to make sure we dont bring roaches into our house. It seems like the hotel doesn't wanna spend the money to maintain things properly. Original good impressions ruined, would not stay here again and would pay the extra premium to stay across the street in the higher end hotel.

The location was amazing with the sunrise shack downstairs and the beach directly in front but the valet could be a little rude/dry. The hotel itself is okay, nice and organized with the front desk ladies being extremely welcoming and informative.

The room was nice and what I needed, the hallways make it look dated. Resort fees are high but probably what is expected from area hotels. Valet parking is something that cannot be avoided and that is $54 a day, so be prepared. The hotel is right across from the beach which is very nice.
