Had enough of scrolling through other people's holiday pics while chowing down your brekkie? Then book a trip to Hiraya and start your days among the beautiful forests and lakes of Nagano.

The nation's capital city, Tokyo, lies roughly 200 kilometres to the east of Hiraya.

Does a coastal stroll sound good to you? Plan a day trip to Koijigahama Beach or Hamaoka Dune.

Are you craving some one-on-one time with Mother Nature? Dig out your car keys and journey to Enakyo Prefectural Natural Park, 25 kilometres away from Hiraya. Alternatively, take in a breath of fresh air at Mt. Iimori, 35 kilometres away.

Remember to pack some green and white clothing so you can support the rugby union team, the Toyota Verblitz, at Toyota Stadium. Located 50 kilometres away in Nagoya, the stadium is also home to the Nagoya Grampus.

There's even more just around the corner. Neba, 7 kilometres to the southwest, is known for the Zuiryu-ji Temple and Chausuyama. Though, if the Chausuyama Golf Club and Sinsyuniinosengokudaira sound better to you, head 8 kilometres southeast from Hiraya to Urugi.

The Tsumago Honjin, the Waki-Honjin and the Kotoku-ji Temple are all close to Nagiso, 30 kilometres to the north. Want more reasons to call in? The Nagiso-machi Museum and Momosuke Bridge aren't far away either.

For something a bit more adventurous, take a look at the region's snowmobiling options. Or perhaps mountain biking is something you'd like to try? Whatever you choose, you're guaranteed to have a fantastic time.
