I was really looking for a quiet weekend and the Edward Hotel provided just that. St John was an amazing host and had such great knowledge of the bus lines and how to get into the more touristy areas like the Cotswolds. Very helpful and accommodating. I thought the room was lovely. For a single room it was very spacious and clean. I absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend.

Good parking, electric car point. Lovely garden . Accommodation ok. I found it damp. It triggered my asthma and had to leave early. The hotel is 20 min from the town walking.

Weekend In Gloucester at the Edward Hotel

We stayed for two nights and could only get a twin room, which was fine. The rooms have everything you need, and yes they could probably do with a bit of a refresh. Our room was roadside, so was a bit noisy. The window could do with a blackout/privacy blind. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from the Cathedral, so a good location. We didn't choose to have breakfast on our first morning, as we decided to try one of the small cafes in town. Breakfast on day 2 was lovely and cooked fresh to order.

This is an older building, so quirky and a little dated - that’s ok. The bathroom was a little challenging, but everything is there that you need. The cooked breakfast was excellent value for money and freshly cooked. We have never stayed anywhere so spotlessly clean . So lots of positives - not least value for money in a location so near the city centre. However, it would have been helpful to have been informed that the carpark was at the back and how to get there. The only real disappointment was the bed in our room - so uncomfortable that I had hardly any sleep during our 2 night stay. However, I do understand that what I found uncomfortable may have been fine for someone else.

I was in room 18 a single room - it was large for a single with 30" smart television, microwave, small fridge, good size ensuite - everything was in perfect condition. Breakfast was an optional £8.50 for full English and well worth it. Only negative was it was ground floor with a bit traffic noise.
