You don't have to go too far afield to enjoy some nice natural sights. Hop in the car and head to Pleschinger Lake, 40 kilometres away from Grein, for a laid-back day. Or maybe Kogler Waterfall is more your style? You'll find it 50 kilometres away.

Alternatively, Aschbach Markt is 18 kilometres to the southwest of Grein. Stop at this place for convenient access to Sonntagberg Wallfahrtskirche and Seitenstetten Abbey.

Behamberg, 35 kilometres to the southwest, may be worth a day trip. You can use it as a port of call when stopping by the Bummerlhaus, Steyr Town Square and Lamberg Castle. If you're still not persuaded, other nearby sights include St. Michael's Church and Damberg Lookout.
