King George Sound near Albany
was Western Australia's very first European settlement, so make sure you check out the colonial buildings while you're here. Love a good hike? Go bushwalking through the Stirling Range National Park and take on the challenge of Bluff Knoll. And if you've still got some energy, you can climb to the summit of mighty Mount Barker.
After a bit of surf, sun and sand? Little Beach is considered one of Australia's best beaches, so it's definitely worth a looksee. Other must-visits are Middleton Beach, Wilson Inlet, Green's Pool and Elephant Rocks. But if it's lakes that you prefer, don't miss Two Mile Lake and Lake Muir.
