We were travelling from one hotel to another and the Beech Hill Hotel was in the right place. Now we know how good it is, we will make a pint of returning for longer to take in the extensive walks.
The wonderful contrast of an old and beautifully furnishes and then the ultra modern en suite bathroom. Breakfast, too, was a delight. Fare excellent and the view from the dining room a delight to behold on a brad, grey, wet morning.
Everything about the hotel was fabulous.
Excellent food
Attentive staff
Paddy and Molly were very friendly and efficient.
Rooms beautiful and clean.
Had a great stay
Will be back.
Lovely hotel, fab comfy bed & great, friendly staff. Food was delicious aswell. Rooms a little dated but very clean & comfy. Look forward to going back.
Lots of room for parking. Check in was easy and very fast. I was in room 34 so up on the very top floor which was very quiet. Bathroom was spotless with plenty of towels. Hairdryer in room and a good selection of channels on tv. Coffee and tea making facilities. Bed was very comfy with lovely plump pillows and duvet. I had dinner in the downstairs bar. Dinner was good and very filing. Dessert of the Cookie Dough was very tasty. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and a lovely variety of hot and cold. All the staff were extremely friendly throughout the hotel. The only downside I had was that the wifi upstairs was pretty much non existent so I couldn't do any work while I was there. Other than improving their wifi reach, this hotel can't really do any wrong.
It was amazing. Beautiful setting, fabulous service, excellent meal, and for the history buffs - loads of history to the building and links to USA military in WW II.

The manager needs to try to get in the bed closest to the room door in room 29. The mattress needs to be replaced! I was on that side and the dip was so bad in the middle I had to fight not to fall out! There was no space of any kind to place your toiletries in the bathroom. I did enjoy the clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom. And their pub/bar was good.
Loved the hotel- the hotel has its own cat in residence! The grounds are nice too. It’s quiet, comfortable and definitely worth a visit. It’s one of the very few hotels which offer a free breakfast!
Very good breakfast, though dinner on previous night was a little disappointing possibly because we ordered shortly before closing. Room was very nice, beds particularly comfortable. Room was nice and quiet except floors next door creaky. Staff excellent. Would stay there again, nice location close to city
