Called the American Stonehenge by some, the "Georgia Guidestones" are both interesting and mysterious. Located just a few miles outside Elberton, Georgia, they are well worth a visit.
The Georgia Guidestones are fascinating and worth the side trip! Located in Elberton, GA, not too far from the Georgia/ South Carolina border. I was especially happy to mark the first item off my bucket list! I've wanted to see the guidestones for a long time. :)
The message on the stones is written in 8 modern languages and 4 ancient ones. Modern: English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Hebrew, Arabic, Swahili and Hindi. Ancient: Sanskrit, classical Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphs, and Babylonian. Also on site is a time capsule with an inscription to be opened on an unnamed date. The guidestones are just as impressive as they are mysterious and there's lots more about them than I can write here. Check them out! :)

Located in Hartwell, Hampton Inn Hartwell is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Hartwell Arts Center and Lake Hartwell.
Room clean. Staff very couteous and easily changed our room when we could not get the heater to work. Had to request additional towels in the room.
