If you're still after somewhere to stay and finding it tricky, you could try the Schloss Fuschl, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa or the Iris Porsche Hotel & Restaurant. The first is 35 kilometres away, while the second is 25 kilometres away. If these aren't up your alley, we'd suggest the Spa Resort Therme Geinberg, which is 25 kilometres from the centre.

But don't just limit your travels to Frankenburg. Take some time to experience some of the fabulous sights and activities that the wider Upper Austria region offers. The area is known for having gorgeous forests, rivers and streams. After staring slack-jawed at nature's artworks, take a look around well-known tourist attractions like castles and traditional villages. If the sun is shining (or even if it's not), you could also get out there and try your hand at some exciting activities like snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing.

Tiefgraben is another place where you can kick back and order up room service like a boss. Sitting 25 kilometres southwest of Frankenburg, it's where you'll discover the Church of St. Michael and Mondsee Heritage Museum. If you'd like to spend a few nights in Tiefgraben, consider the rates at the Pension Irlingerhof and Gästehaus Stabauer. 30 kilometres to the northwest of Frankenburg you can also stay at Obernberg am Inn, which is home to the Das Wunsch-Hotel Mürz and Hotel garni Bellevue. After being cramped in a cabin seat all night, a nice warm bed at the Laschenskyhof will be bliss! If that's chockers, suss out the Airporthotel Salzburg. Both are super close to W.A. Mozart Airport, which is 50 kilometres from the centre of town.
