We stayed at this hotel because we were booking rather late for summer high season and there really is a dearth of options in this area. We were traveling with our 1.5 year old. A few things to note, there is no elevator so we had to carry our heavy bags (packed for a 2 week vacation with a baby) up 3 flights of stairs and then back down. The hotel was clean but dark, and quite drab. Everything is quite old including the rooms. I would mention that our bathroom was a bright spot as it was clean and fresh. The hotel lists a lot of amenities but I would point out that they spread out throughout the village. For example, the pools are a walk away and so is one of the restaurants. We did not end up using any of the amenities during our 2 night stay because mobilizing with a child was just too much for us. We ate at one of the restaurants (The Bistro) one evening. It was quite a walk away in the dark, so we ate in town the next night. There was no room service either. Overall we had an authentic French village stay - lovely and quaint. However, it really wasnt what we were envisioning of a 4 star hotel for which we paid up perhaps only bc it was high season. Not a very good deal from our perspective. Would not stay again.
I highly recommend this hotel. Of my two week travel through Southern France in December, this was my all time favorite hotel, room, staff, and dinner (all my hotels were 4 & 5 star hotels so they compared to this one). My room and restroom were large and adorably decorated in antique furniture, pictures and beautiful lighting. It included a small refrigerator and tea bar.
The restaurant, service and food was also my favorite of my whole trip. I ate at mostly all Michelin 1 star restaurants throughout my trip and this exceeded in all areas from the others. The best services hands down. Enjoy the waiting room with a cocktail before dinner. I won't forget this stay anytime soon. Not to mention the adorable village of Grignan should not be missed even if you can't stay at this hotel.
A wonderful two night stay in this lovely hotel. Our room was a bit smaller than we had hoped but very comfortable and clean and the AC worked well. We did not try the restaurant but it looks beautiful with all the plants in the conservatory and courtyard.
Charming hotel in lovely village in wine country. Hotel reception staff were most courteous and spoke English. Room overlooking courtyard was nicely decorated and very tidy but on the small side. Pool had closed for the season by the time we arrived mid September. My husband enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu of Michelin rated chef at the hotel restaurant and I really enjoyed selections from their amazing cheese trolley. Service at the restaurant was extremely attentive. The breakfast served from charming french kitchen was delightful. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return.
