We had a lovely stay in the suite. Once the windows were closed it was super quiet and the bed was very comfy. The room clean and cosy. The hairdryer was broken tho'. The hotel is full of character and so I think its old style decor is part of its charm. Even so a more.modern feel to the bedrooms woulf be a good idea. The secret garden could be stunning and does has some lovely plants however it felt a tad grubby (sticky tables). Sraff amazing.
Property & staff great but issue wirh Expedia as had booked a double room with extra bed but not possible at this location.
Hotel staff (Jonathan) very helpful as Expedia had messed up booking
It was okay to stay and my main complaints are
1) no free parking although advertised as free
2) Shower bath was not that great
3) No one answering your calls for any enquiries over 4.5 hrs period.
4) Value for money is not that great compared to hotels in general
Hotels exceptionally clean and the reception staff was very good. The only downside was that the lift was not working and I was on the fourth floor.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
some staff were lovely others it was clear you were an inconvenience e.g another guest opened the door for me with my bags while staff ignored me chatting at reception.
drinkers pub - so not good for single travellers unless your thing. I am sure great for groups.
lift was out but can’t be helped
smelt of cigarettes
Has their own car park (chargeable) but that is open to others. The hotel has a bar and its own restaurant. The Quay is very close and has restaurants. The cathedral is very near as is the main shopping area. I found the hotel very pleasant to stay in
Quaint, atmospheric, very good food. Only one small quibble, i and other diners would like a pot of tea at breakfast rather than a cup with teabag. That apart, very good
We stayed at the White Hart a few years ago and chose to do so again for its ideal position near the Quay and the shops. The property has been refurbished recently and our room was very good except for a very dodgy window (room 310) . The glass and frame had become separated on the lower sash making it quite dangerous to use.
Breakfast options were ok but service was poor. Orange juice had run out at 9am ! and soya.milk took so long to come my tea was cold when it did. There was just one rather
harrased man taking the orders , serving the drinks and cleaning the tables . The food came from the kitchen which seemed to be some way away from the dining room on an individual order basis. We waited 25.minutes. System needs improving. We wouldn't stay there again.
Staff were very kind & went beyond the norm in printing out an entrance ticket for me , storing my luggage for 2 hours , even though they seemed extremely busy!
Thanks so much to Louise & rest of staff for their outstanding service!
