Not familiar with the area- it was truly an accident that i stayed next to the University. The room that i was given was in a building behind the actual hotel- perhaps made over dorms? Stair access only, which was not a problem for me. It was definitely musty in the stairwells and upon entrance into the room. For the actual room, it was a good amount of space and had a cute little balcony. Fairly comfortable bed and pillows. Did also manage to get room a comfy temp for me. Oddly positioned tv, but had a swivel mount so it worked out although there was no finding a tv guide on the remote. Like back in the old days, find something watchable and don't change the channel.The bathtub was dirty & water barely ran, but there were some decent quality shower necessities. The balcony wasn't locked when i came in- Being a woman traveling alone, the whole scene (as well as what sounded like sirens all night, but could have been the wind blowing through the sliding glass doors or noise from the heating/cooling unit) kept me up with nightmares. The gym, pool, and breakfast were in the main building. I didnt use pool or gym. Breakfast didnt do much for me, being vegan, but that is pretty typical for hotels. They did have oat milk, which i appreciated as it meant i could at least have coffee and cereal with a banana! Overall, if i were in the area again I would be open to trying a stay in the main building but would pass on the "dorm" rooms.
