Empire Mine State Historic Park protects the largest, deepest, and richest mines in the California Gold Rush period and operated from 1850 - 1956. It produced 5.8 Million ounces of gold that was extracted from 367 miles of passages. It also houses the exquisite "Cottage" built between 1898 and 1905 with beautiful extensive stately formal and informal gardens with fountains surrounding the home. Although the grounds, Cottage, and Mine are impressive, the picture shown stands out in the photos of the garden. #Nature

This is our 2nd post from the Empire Mine State Historic Park in California. The mine is the largest, deepest, and richest Gold mine in the California Gold Rush period and operated from 1850 - 1956. It produced 5.8 Million ounces of gold that was extracted from 367 miles of passages. It also houses the exquisite "Cottage" built between 1898 and 1905 with beautiful extensive stately formal and informal gardens with fountains surrounding the home. I really liked this Inn. The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and they have a gym and hot tub! I will stay there again, I'm sure.
