Make your way approximately 13 kilometres southeast of Egg and you'll find the busy centre of Canton of Zurich.

Greifensee, just 7 kilometres to the north, is renowned for Shopping Center Glatt and the Zoo Zurich. You'll kick yourself if you don't check them out.

The tranquil sounds of the natural world are waiting for you at Mount Pilatus. It sits just 50 kilometres away, so you won't need to be stuck on the road all day. Rhine Falls, 40 kilometres away, is another popular choice.

Even when you're on holiday, it can be difficult to get away from the stresses of modern living. If you're looking to clear away some of the cobwebs from your mind, leave your smartphone in the glovebox and go for a walk at the Grueningen Botanical Garden.

If you're the sort of traveller who loves to experience the true local vibe of the place you're visiting, Hallenstadion is one for your must-see list.
