Seeing wear and tear on this property. Many years ago it had a multi million dollar restoration and it was beautiful! Now you can see a lot of dings and marks on the dark wood furnishings. Our room was clean and comfortable but maybe needed deep cleaning of the floor tile grout in the bathroom and in the corners. Also curtains didn’t slide well. There were little things that could have used attention. Bar across the street was extremely loud after we went to sleep. The noise woke us up. We went to sleep at around 11:45PM and it was after that when the music started and a lot of people partying. Lobby is pretty and pool/hot tub were nice. Caroline’s restaurant in the hotel was very good. Had breakfast there. About Dubuque. I don’t think it has the feel it once did. Not near as many businesses to visit for a weekend getaway and maybe felt a bit less safe. I don’t know. It’s satisfactory but not exceptional.

Great place ti stay away from mall and congestion

Greathistoric hotel downtown DBQ. Close to everything with decent parking area Roomwas spacious. Only issue was thermostat didnot work. Called front desk and they adjusted temperature for us.

We have always wanted to stay here! We love this property. It is gorgeous. We enjoyed the night life as well as the restaurant for breakfast. Our only issue, which is minor, is when we got to our room there was not a tv remote. Called down and a very kind maintenance man came up. He could not get the remote he brought up to work so he left. He came up with another guy. They got the tv to turn on but we could not change the channel or adjust the volume. Finally we said just forget it and he said he would let the front desk know. I thought we would maybe get a couple drink chips or an offer to move rooms. Nothing. When we checked out, they did not mention it at all. We would stay again though.

Live music in the riverboat lounge was excellent. Bartenders were very friendly. The next night we ate at Caroline's awesome service and food. The front desk was knowledgeable and helpful. Beautiful Hotel with gorgeous views of the Mississippi river.

When we were to check in the room wasnt ready. We waited until 4 pm to get into our room scheduled for 3pm. Hotel room was very small and old like an efficiency apartment when it was an upgraded room on the 8th floor. The view was great. Lots of things within walking distance.
