Getting Around Samoa

Flights to Samoa land at Faleolo International Airport (APW), 30km from the capital of Apia. Your accommodation in Samoa may provide airport shuttle service, or you can acquaint yourself with the taxi system right away, since that’s the best way to get around!

When You Land…

If you’re headed to Savaii Island, Samoa flights that touch down in the morning are your best bet. You’ll have plenty of time to catch the ferry and lounge on the beach all day. Feel like blowing off some steam? Visit the Alofaaga Blowholes and take your clothes off. (Seriously, you’ll get wet, so wear your swimsuit.)

Adventurers can grab afternoon flights and take the path less travelled. Head to Lake Lanoto'o National Park and go for a swim! Wait, what’s that thing brushing up against you? Don’t freak out. It’s just a giant goldfish—the lake is full of them!

Book an evening flight and you might be greeted with a fia-fia night. This translates to “happy get-together”, so we hope you’re in a great mood! You will be by the time the feasting, drinking and fire knife dancing is done. Note: You don’t participate in that last thing. Just watch.
