This stay felt like a three‑star experience at best when compared to hotels in North America or Southeast Asia. The floors looked like they had not been cleaned in weeks, and the room had an unpleasant smell. There was only one coffee cup in the coffee bar area, no spoons, and we were expected to use a chopstick as a stir stick. Breakfast involved a long wait, and while there were a fair number of options, the quality was mediocre. The entire property looked tired and neglected, and both staff and management seemed disengaged. The situation was summed up by their welcome letter, which had been printed upside down on official letterhead.
If this is the standard for a Taj property, then they have lost us as customers permanently.
