Holidays in Darwin City Centre

Bring your adventurous streak along with that well-travelled suitcase. It's time to see what Darwin City Centre is all about! A fabulous Darwin 'hood, it's a fantastic place to experience another side of the capital of Northern Territory. If you love meeting the locals while on the road, Darwin is full of potential new BFFs. Around 130,000 people call this city home. Darwin City Centre is 0.3 kilometres northwest of the centre of the city. If you're arriving from Darwin International Airport, hop into a taxi and head 7 kilometres to the southwest.

With a good deal of the city's best attractions close by, Darwin City Centre is a dream for sightseers. From Bicentennial Park to Parliament House, you aren't going to run out of things to keep you on the move. You should also make sure to experience the Crocosaurus Cove and Government House. While you're in town, think about visiting other neighbourhoods to see more of what Darwin has to offer. Darwin and The Esplanade are great recommendations that aren't too far away.

Find a babysitter and pop in for some fun at the SKYCITY Casino and Stokes Hill Wharf.

Deepen your knowledge of the region at the 24HR Art, the Maningrida Arts & Culture and the Chung Wah Temple. These cultural attractions can't be missed!

Look into the glass cabinets and learn about the artefacts on display as you stroll through the engaging collections of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, the Defence Of Darwin Experience and the Darwin Military Museum.

One of the gauges of an exceptional performance is often how loud the applause is when it's finished. Come and join in the cheers at Darwin Entertainment Centre and the Brown's Mart Theatre.

Sometimes kids can have fun in the most unlikely locations. Go on an adventure with them to Aquascene, Darwin Waterfront, the Darwin Deckchair Cinema and Indo Pacific Marine.

If you're after something a little more exciting to do with the kids, you should pay a visit to Wave Lagoon and East Point Recreation Reserve.

Get a bit of exercise at a nearby reserve, such as the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens and East Point Reserve. Bring your camera to capture photos of the local animals.

There's nothing quite like indulging in some shopping. Give your wallet a workout at Smith Street Mall, Mindil Beach Sunset Market, Parap Village Markets and Lyons Cottage.

The surrounding heritage attractions will provide you with a better understanding of the area's interesting past. The Darwin War Memorial, the WWII Oil Storage Tunnels, the Fannie Bay Gaol Museum and the USS Peary Memorial are not to be missed.

Christ Church Anglican Cathedral Darwin and St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral offer tourists a chance to better understand the region's religious side.

Are you a sports lover? Add some adrenaline to your escape by heading along to a thrilling Australian rules football (AFL) event at TIO Stadium.

Hotel is very good and I got a clean room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s also a good location for tour pickups and is right opposite a Woolworths which is great. It’s also a short walk from Crocosauras Cove which makes it a great location
