Disappointed by poor check in especially as we weren’t feeling well & needed to rest. Reason for delay was given as Supervisor had to check to confirm room at standard. Finally given access after 40mins, advised needed to still sort mini bar & would deliver tea with milk, neither happened. Ceiling in bathroom began leaking during the night, with water all over floor, my wife narrowly missed slipping & having a dangerous fall. Reported to reception & maintenance, didn’t seem to be too bothered saying we should report in post stay feedback form which never came through. Another example of number of occasions when staff said what we wanted to hear but no action took place. There were couple of staff who were both friendly & went above & beyond. Most others seemed superficial sadly. Location nice, food good, but above experience left bad taste in mouth.

The hotel’s location and beach are exceptional. The staff’s efforts to address our concerns were commendable. However, the property’s age and the need for repairs are notable drawbacks. Three out of four rooms were unsatisfactory, necessitating a relocation to upgraded accommodations. The dining experience was average, contrasting with the exceptional quality of food at other Secret locations. While we are considering returning to Cozumel for its pristine beaches, we would not choose to stay at this establishment again.

the property is kind of dull, no real color outside of the dull orange on the walls. the pools look old, nothing special at all. the first room they put us in, there were dead bugs on the bed and just bugs flying throughout the room. moths, roaches, all of them. they switched our room for us and the newer one was way nicer, but the view was just the dull pool. everyone was kind but i dont know about cozumel.

When booking we requested a ground floor room and the request was honored, so big plus for us. The grounds needs a little more upkeep but it was clean and the staff was attentive at all times.

Great Staff, But Dining Needs Work The staff at Secrets Aura Cozumel was amazing, friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. You really couldn’t ask for better service. That said, the dining setup was frustrating. You’re given a printed schedule showing which restaurants are open each day, and most are à la carte with limited, repetitive menus. Many meals lacked variety, and waiting in the heat wasn’t enjoyable. The Market Café buffet was great for breakfast, but it absolutely needs to be open for lunch and dinner. A buffet option all day would solve a lot. We ended up relying on room service just for convenience. The swim-out rooms were excellent for relaxing after the beach. Overall: amazing staff and setting, but management really needs to improve food variety and bring back buffet dining beyond breakfast.

We had an amazing stay at Secrets Aura Cozumel. The property was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. We especially loved breakfast at Bordeaux with Rony and Ricardo each morning, as well as lunches at the beach/pool with Miguel. The hydrotherapy at the spa was also wonderful. Overall, we had an incredible stay and we can’t wait to visit again very soon.

Great snorkeling! Great dive shop and easy access to dive boats! Very attentive staff and service far exceeding other resorts! And they have Dos Equis! Most resorts in Cozumel don’t offer it! Spacious rooms with great AC! We will definitely return !!

We have been to this property several times. This last time we went the check in was a bit longer than normal and we were preferred guest. Only one person helping and several families waiting.The room was GREAT clean, cool and stocked daily. The preferred pool was not very clean or cool and the food was good but again in the past GREAT. I actually book for the food its typically very authentic. Something changed in management or chain. Customer service was good, and the beach was CLEAN! Had I never been in the past I would have given 4 stars but being the standard on my expectation was set I was a little disappointed.

We loved our swim out suite, however we were told to get out of the pool right outside of our room at 9pm. The non preferred people (us)were treated totally different, the excursions were confusing and they seemed to want to book with their buddies next door idk if they got a kick back. The food left a LOT to be desired, the drinks were so sweet and served in not so clean looking glasses. We rented a car fortunately and explored the island finding some good food there. There is a definitely time share push, they are careful not to call it that. That wasted 3 hours of our day that day. I will go back to Cozumel but not likely to here.

This is a 3 start at best. Unfortunately as an adults only resort, no nightlife at all, most bars close very early (by 9 at latest) and very boring for an all inclusive that is so far away from downtown. Will not stay again.

Negative experience at Secrets Aura Cozumel Problems from the beginning of the stay Estimated date: 6/12/2025 - 06/15/2025 Upon arrival, the adjacent room was being painted, which caused a strong paint smell in the room itself. I reported the inconvenience to the reception, who visited the room, applied a spray, and apologized. The smell persisted the next day; I had to call again and remain out of her room for approximately three hours while they attempted to resolve the problem with a dehumidifier. Lack of compensation or alternatives from hotel staff, beyond apologies. Experience with the “Preferred Lounge” and restaurants I paid for a preferred room with access to the “Preferred Lounge,” but the food offered (snacks, sandwiches) seemed to be in poor condition and he never got to enjoy it. The lounge staff showed little knowledge of the drinks offered. I only used the lounge to make a reservation. Restaurant Incidents A. Breakfast at Bordeaux (for preferred customers) First breakfast: Poorly prepared dishes (chilaquiles with almost burnt egg, chewy tortillas and bitter salsa; boyfriend received a sandwich and avocado toast). I requested a change of dish; the new one (American breakfast with sausage) was also in poor condition (hard pancakes, undercooked eggs, inedible sausage). The staff was courteous and apologetic, but the experience didn't improve. The manager visited the room after reporting the problems and offered a complimentary meal

My overall experience at this resort was terrible. The property was difficult to locate, and when I reached out to the staff for assistance, they were generally unhelpful. I also tried to connect with the general manager via email, but I never received a response. During the stay, I attempted to speak with the on-site manager multiple times, but he was always "too busy" to talk. That lack of communication and accountability was extremely frustrating. The resort offered no live music or evening entertainment, and their club was closed due to construction—another major disappointment, especially since we had chosen this place hoping for a fun, lively atmosphere. If you're planning to party or enjoy nightlife, this is not the place for you. The resort itself felt outdated and showed signs of poor maintenance. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a more attractive property, better amenities, and at least some form of entertainment at night. That said, a few staff members did stand out in a positive way: Fernanda from the massage team was excellent, Rudy the bellboy was amazing, and Rigoberto at the pool bar provided fantastic service. The one true highlight was the food—it was genuinely great. But overall, the resort fell far short of expectations and I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a vibrant, well-managed vacation experience.

We stayed at Secrets for 7 days on our honeymoon and loved it. We were in a "preferred room" which I would recommend because we had access to all the other pools/restaurants which we really liked. The adult only aspect was really nice. We loved the swim-up bar. Easy and quick to get drinks. Staff/service was great! We were always able to find loungers by the pool or beach and staff would come around to get us food/drinks. We enjoyed all the restaurants and thought the food was great (neither of us are picky). We only had a wait at the sushi restaurant on the rooftop, which is a small place. 24-hour room service was also really nice. The property and rooms are older - but not gross or falling apart as some of the reviews I read would suggest. We had a couple issues with water pressure and flickering lights, but not a big deal - we weren't there to hang out in the hotel room. Housekeeping came daily and restocked our minifridge with beers, snacks and towels. We dove with Dive Palancar which was definitely the highlight of the trip - they were right next door to Dreams so we could walk over or they would pick you up at the dock. Staff were great and the diving is amazing!

Food was very low quality Bar tenders awful Had to go ask for towels shampoo and to have to water in the mini bar restocked every day Only half the restaurants are open each day for dinner, and unless your a member breakfast and lunch is limited to buffet and a hamburger
