MOLD!! ZERO stars. Since I was not able to get a refund I unfortunately had to stay here for a few nights that I booked before looking at the reviews (big mistake!). I woke up every morning unable to breathe. The AC smells like mold, and the walls, baseboards and bathroom were covered in mold. VERY dirty, unknown substances on floor and walls. Looked like there was blood on the curtains along side some brown goop. Very loud neighbours who were yelling and fighting with each other. Water stains all over the ceilings. Also there were stains on the sheets/pillows. I will never stay here again, so gross. The mold in this place is not worth it at ANY price.

The staff was amazing. The rooms not so much. AC was horrible, the room was 100% smoked in regularly. The walls were dirty. The ceiling was dirty. Old curtains and bedspread. I do not recommend.

Very disappointed as we needed a one night stay. We couldnt be comfortable as bed sham was super dirty and comforter. Remote control for tv was broken and wall AC had exposed wiring. The ceiling tiles were broken and super dirty bathroom. We travel a lot and this hotel was a total 0. Outside the room were abonded cars and junk all over the ground. It was $137 for a saturday night and shouldnt be this awful.

My partner and I came to stay here after celebrating my birthday. When we arrived, as we were getting out of the car some car came speeding in and pulled into a spot almost hitting other cars. A guy and a woman came out and he was screaming at the woman. After we checked in we came back outside and the guy began yelling at my partner and I and the woman he was with. He was incredibly verbally violent and was saying he wanted to beat my partner up and how he bears women. He then started saying no homophobic remarks and We did not feel comfortable to stay so we checked out and thankfully got a refund.

Needs to be Renovated

Not clean at all, doors, walls, bathroom, hanger rack all nasty. Fridge nasty didn’t work nor did the phone in the room work the pillows felt like they put cottonballs in them, and the room smelled like a thrift store and we couldn’t sleep with some lady outside screaming. I wouldn’t recommend the Vagabond hotel in Costa Mesa to anyone

Nice, comfortable bed. Quiet area (my room was on the back side of the hotel, along Gisler Ave). Friendly, efficient staff. Two suggestions for improvement: provide more nutritious breakfast foods, and renovate my room. Facilities, bedding, and towels were clean, but the room should be updated soon.
