It has roaches, the building was run down, and the room smelled like pee. They have mold and I am honestly shocked they allow anyone to stay here. The only thing good about the property is the large pool and they strong jacuzzi. But the hotel itself needs a code inspector to come in and see if it is even safe for ppl to stay there.

It was terrible . They had roaches . The air didn’t work good at all it got cold finally when was already check out time. The floors was really dirty. Moldy bathroom roof. Sheets had black stains . Tweakers all around the place very unsafe! Had to change my room twice due to fridge leaking and very hot in the rooms. Mind you all this is just in a one day stay. Do not recommend!!

The room smelled disgusting, the sheets, bed cover and towels were all stained or ripped. The cleaning lady told us that there was nothing to do in cleaning the toilet and bath tub, but she changed the sheets and gave us a blanket. I clean some of the stains in the toilet with my own Lysol cleaning wipes! There were people working in a truck close to my room, homeless and we were almost sure that some look drugged or even prostitution was happening there… and it was my birthday! Worst home we have ever stayed.

Had a great stay at the vagabond motel. First impressions are that the property is well maintained and very clean. Another nice option is that they have coffee in the lobby at all times, which makes it convenient in the morning instead of making that little tiny cup in your room, you can just go to the lobby fill up a giant mug and go. Other bonuses at this property is a great shower in your room with fantastic water pressure. Also, they have an amazing pool with beautiful garden and a Jacuzzi spa that is fantastic. Best jets and a Jacuzzi that I have used in a while. Lastly, they have a nice sitting area outside, the parking is easy, and there is an In-N-Out burger right across the parking lot making it super convenient if you’d like in and out, but more importantly, keeping the hotel extremely safe with so many people around getting their in and out. The staff was very polite and helpful. This is not a luxury hotel but if you just need a night or two at a good price closer to the beach and the freeway, then this motel is absolutely perfect, providing exactly what you want at a very affordable cost and providing a clean safe environment to spend the night and enjoy a hot tub and double double after a day at Newport Beach.

Safe but dated

Look, it’s fine for a night or two in a pinch. But the rooms need a serious update. There are holes and scuffs all over the drywall. The building is just old and outdated. Uncomfortable mattress, old towels. Not the end of the world, but definitely not worth the price. It felt safe and was very clean in spite of being dated.

The air conditioner is outdated. You could put it cold, but if you want it hot, it only gets a little bit warm. It doesn’t work on a cold tonight as good as a shirt and they don’t have elevators or handicap Wheel Chair are overweight people to use. Overall, it’s a nice place and I love that you could check in early.

When we checked in the front desk wasn't friendly at all. He barely said anything to us. It didn't say online the pool area was closed. I was looking forward to the hot tub so that sucked. It was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in. The bathroom had black mold! Water wouldn't stop running from bath tub faucet. Very poor maintenance. I tried to speak to a manager but of course there wasn't one on site. We asked to be contacted and never heard anything. Stay away from this place!
