Historic and Iconic! Surrounded by shopping, restaurants, pubs and a seaside park across the park where people bring their dogs. Not to mention St. Colman’s Cathedral you can see so vividly from the roof while sipping a cocktail. The Commodore’s own restaurant had an excellent breakfast with ample hours of you’re inclined to sleep in. Truly enjoyed staying in the grand old gal. Thank you.

Fantastic staff. Early check-in on the spot. Room just what was needed, but didn't need any size increase other than the tiny bathtub.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff.

The hotel is clearly aged. Everything needs a revamp. The carpet is old and stained in the general areas and worse in the rooms. The room carpet was dusty and looked like it was not vacuumed or steamed. The carpet was peeling off the floors. The tub was stained and black marks from the tub peeling. The shower curtain was just disgusting, the colour of the bottom of the curtain was completely different from the top of the curtain. The towels were just thrown into the shelf. The towels were very hard as if they were not washed properly. The curtains to block the windows were just full of dust. There was old water in the kettle, who knows how long it was in there. Felt like a hostel. The staff at the desk and the restaurant/bar were excellent. The hotel itself just needs help.

Room is cleaned/towels changed, bed made, bin emptied when you request it. Yes, shops are nearby. I was a solo traveller without a car.

Heater in room very dated and did not work properly…some weird a/c button and a temperature dial…did not work
