I had not just a great visit but a magical visit to this part western Everglades. My eastern Everglades tour was spent in a high rise chain moderately priced hotel. It was outside the park and every day that I returned to that facility the spell was broken but by the mall atmosphere.
In this charming motel I arrived to an adventurous crowd sitting in lawn chairs outside their rooms enjoying the sunset. In the morning charming cafe very reasonably priced and good quality food was next door.
The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable steering me to a local restaurant that was awesome live Cuban music guitar and singer in a screened in porch setting on a river. I watched the moon abd star rise over a boat moored outside the door. The Cuban seafood cuisine was to die for. Finally the owner of this establishment called me personally a day after Expedia and I screwed my reservation to resolve the matter in my favor even though she was not required to do so. It’s nice to be treated with respect and fairness far from home. It only makes my memory of my stay more golden. I will return and recommend you stay in this magical place for your trip.
