We asked for non smoking room and despite no smoking allowed sign on the door the room reeked as someone was smoking inside it

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room needs a visit from the Illinois Department of Public Health and maybe a building inspection. Stains on the walls, door, ceilings, bathtub, cove heaters and furniture. Ripped up office chair. Terrible patchwork done to ceiling in multiple large spots, most likely from water damage. No cover on the knob that controls the cove heater(exposed metal on electrical control). Multiple holes on the comforter from cigarettes. Food was found on top of the shelf. Bathtub has a large strange spot inside. The showerhead was leaking from the threads and the nozzles were filthy. Towels had hair from previous guests. Toilet seat needs to be changed. The front door jamb was poorly repaired from what looks like a previous attempt to bust open the door. A/C unit just made noise. It did not blow any air whether hot or cold. Mattress springs can be felt very easily through the dirty mattress. The screeching of the mattress springs were so loud that it woke me up several times during the night. The key card needed to be recharged every single night. I would not wish these room conditions on my worst enemy. I have photos evidence of most of these claims. The roof was Burnt and smelled really bad clothes was left inside air conditioning didn’t work properly so either ur cold or hot the toilet didn’t flush correctly the bed was uneven the tv was zoomed in and couldn’t zoom out we ended up buying a tv to watch while we stayed was very bad experience

This place is in desperate need of refurbishment. The bed cover was dirty, the furniture is badly worn. The desk chair upholstery had peeled off most of the seating area. The tub had paint wearing off the bottom, and the plumbing didn’t work well. The key card would fail to work every day, and I would have to go to the lobby to get it recoded every time. I have stayed in prior years, but it has gone way downhil. It arrears they are primarily trying to attract weekly tenants. .

Had to wait 25 minutes to be checked in as the lobby was locked and no one in there, Go up to the room strong smell of marijuana coming though the vents from the neighbour room, light was busted off air conditioner was broken and taped. Burn holes in the bedding blood stains everywhere room was just gross, door barely latched and door trim was falling off around the door. Super sketchy.. didn’t look like the floors had been cleaned in years. Went down to ask to switch rooms a sign up saying be back in 5 minutes waited 15 minutes still no one. Left for a grocery store to buy pillows and sheets that weren’t blood stained and burn holes in them, as well Lysol to spray the entire room down. I wouldn’t not recommend to anyone. I will never stay at a red roof inn after this experience
