Not good enough for Hilton

Staff was great. Room was large. Hotel was clean. Plenty of parking. Bathroom was tiny. There were no knobs on the inside shower door to open from the inside. Ice machine only on three floors. Stacks of dirty laundry left in the hallway over a day. Buffet Luke warm

High Price but the service didn't match

I recently stayed at the Hilton in the Northbrook area, and while the hotel itself seemed decent overall, my experience was far from comfortable. The toilet in my room leaked all night, and I had to open the tank manually every time I used it just to stop it from running. On top of that, the floor next to the bathroom was constantly wet due to some kind of leak. I couldn’t walk barefoot or even in socks—I had to wear flip-flops just to move around comfortably in my own room. I reported the issue to the front desk around 10 PM, fully understanding that it might not be fixed immediately, which I was okay with. However, no one followed up, attempted to resolve the problem, or offered any kind of compensation or alternative. That lack of response was really disappointing. I won’t be staying here again, but I don’t think the hotel is inherently bad—I probably just got the short end of the stick. Still, for a Hilton, I expected better service and responsiveness.

Good place to stay, off the beaten path and decent pricing. Pool was clean, cold but swimmable. Hot tub was awesome. Rooms were spacious, tiny toilet/shower but the vanity area was a nice addition to make up for it. Biggest downfall was the lack of air movement as there was a strong smell of weed emanating throughout the hotel all week and it didn't matter if you were on the 5th floor or main floor. Also, the restaurant hours could be more user friendly as 10pm on a Friday and Saturday seems early to close. I would stay again but likely would chose an area that had more within walking distance and not having to cross busy streets/intersections to get everywhere.
