Don’t stay in room 7

On arrival thought that this motel was alright and represented reasonable value. The room though in a dated complex was updated and comfortable. Then the neighbouring guest in room 6 checked in and switched on their air conditioner. The whole time it was on throughout the night it made a loud rattling noise right outside the front window of our room7. Not easy to sleep through. Then in the morning the neighbour had a long shower judging by the pipe water noise and whilst that was running we had no hot water at all. My wife got stuck with a cold shower as we had to check out by 10am. I don’t know what the other rooms are like but don’t stay in room 7. Was going to speak to reception about this but they were closed on check out. For what we paid I expected better.

I enjoyed my stay here. It was a close walk to the Theatre Royale which is why I was in town. I walked home after the gig, around 11pm and felt safe along the well-lit street.

Great location. Have stayed a few times before. Helpful staff. Very nice room. Best shower ever. Our only issue was with the heating. After discovering we had on wrong setting for warmth it was great until around 11 pm when we got back to the room (we never altered the settings on the remote} there was no heat again and we froze for the night. Bit warmer when we woke up. Possibly on a timer?

Pleasant enough

Comfortable bed. Pleasant room. Ridiculous bar stools too high to sit on at the bench which meant no work space except your lap while sitting on the bed or couch. Needs a small dining table and 2 dining chairs instead of extra long bench OR simply bar stools of the height that make the bench usable as a table.
