Avoid staying at The Manor. It is in need of complete refurbishment. Has access issues as well. Threadbare carpets and dusty old rooms of low quality. Staff are amazing and the gardens and grounds beautiful. Excellent restaurants and bars.

Pleasant stay 😊

We was quite pleased with our room at the Manor House and much better value for money. We had afternoon tea in the olive tree and the food was nice but considering it wasn’t busy the service wasn’t very good, it took a while before I was given water I had asked for and the Prosecco I was offered and accepted never arrived. We used facilities and although we enjoyed it was a shame the men’s changing rooms were out of order and the only alternative was for my husband to use the disabled toilet to change so I had to have his stuff in my locker. We had drinks in Merlin’s bar and then we ate dinner at the Pan restaurant and I must say the food and service was excellent and we will definitely return, I think our waiter who was Portuguese was called Jaon (I may have the spelling wrong) was very attentive and friendly and knowledgeable and he made our evening much more pleasant, so a shout out to him. We had one of the taster menus and although the food was lovely it was just too much for us (pictured what was left 🙈)

On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom modern and immaculately clean. However the small armchair was very worn and needs replacing. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. Our big disappointment was the service in the Merlin Bar. Although there were bar waiters there were insufficient for the size of the bar and number of people in it. We sat for some time waiting to be served. In the end my husband went to the bar himself but had to queue and waited some time to be served. However by the time we left there were about 15 people queuing at the bar. Not what we expected in a hotel of this quality

We had a lovely over night stay at the manor house. The hotel was beauitful and spotlessly clean. Staff were all lovely and welcoming. Room service was a lovely touch and our food at the Pad was stunning. The only downside to our stay was we found the whole hotel very hot, the air con in our room wasnt the best which resulted in a hot night but otherwise we couldn't fault the manor house for a stay. I would say that the spa facilities were a bit disappointing in regards to orgaisatioj, there was no option for mens lockers which was very inconvinent and reasulted in time wasted having to pass stuff between eachother and could have done with more adult only time for the pool use as this was very limited with it being half term, on checking out however we was advised that there is an alternative pool on sight which we didnt know about and not doesn't get used much by families. Had we known this before checking out we would definitely have used this as an option given it was a couple's break.

Alternative place to stay joined to Celtic Manor

Reception staff friendly. Plenty of parking 10min walk at a discount for residents. Had to climb stairs to 1st floor to get lift to rest of hotel! Great breakfast. Lovely grounds.

This hotel is immense! Loved getting lost and finding different zones. Lovely staff and beautiful pool. We will be back! Also-the breakfast choice was incredible.

A night with merlin

One night stay in the manor house, we didn't stay in the room for any length of time, it was comfortable for a night, we had a lovely meal at the grill restaurant, great service all round, we then had a stoll down to the merlins bar where we enjoyed listening to the excellent guitarist
