I loved my stay here! I had a lot of fun at the pool, the entertainment staff were amazing and so much fun, and the pool food/drink service was really good! Some downsides were: I thought the Las Olas dining hall was very loud, it's a big room with hard surfaces, and the noise from the buffet echoes through the area. I also saw a cockroach on my dining table in the Japanese restaurant, I moved tables after that but it wasn't a pleasant experience. That being said, I understand it is an open-style hotel, but it was off-putting during the meal. The rooms are also a bit dated, but they are large rooms with plenty of space, and the view overlooking the pool/beach is fantastic. You can also go visit the other RIU resorts, and the Caribe is next door for those who like to party. Overall the stay was great, our room got upgraded and we got to eat at the restaurant in the villas, and the experience there was much better! The service here is really good, I thought it was great value for a last-minute booking. I would definitely recommend going here if you're on a budget and enjoy spending time by the pool and beach. Another thing I liked is that this place does not do reservations for dining, first come first serve and there are several decent options!

The Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula - All Inclusive in Cancun was great. Staff friendly, accommodating, attentive, all restaurants, breakfast buffet lunch buffet snack stands everything delicious and fresh. Bartenders made great drinks. paid attention to requests. Just an overall great experience and had a wonderful time.

I stayed at Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula a few days ago, having made my reservation back in November. Unfortunately, my experience was a mix of positives and significant disappointments. To start, I had booked and paid for an ocean-view room well in advance, expecting to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean views. However, upon arrival, I was told the hotel was overbooked, and no ocean-view rooms were available. This was incredibly stressful, and after going back and forth—refusing to accept a garden-view room—the manager eventually stepped in, and suddenly, an ocean-view room became available. While I ultimately got the room I had paid for, dealing with this issue ruined half of my first day and left me feeling frustrated. Other areas of the hotel also fell short of expectations. The à la carte restaurants felt like cubicles without windows, and the food was underwhelming. Additionally, the mini-bar service was inconsistent—I had to request refills every day, and on my last day, despite multiple calls, my request was completely ignored. On the positive side, the buffet was excellent, offering a variety of fresh and delicious options daily. The service at the beach and bars was outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff. Both the beach and pool areas were well-maintained and enjoyable.
