There's only 1 hotel within 10 kilometres of central Canals, so you'll have to move faster than a kid on red cordial if you want to stay close by.

When your feet are starting to throb and you can't look at another tourist attraction, curl up with a movie in bed at Portal del Caroig. It's about as central as you'll get in Canals.

More accommodations include the Rusticae Hotel LEstació, which is 20 kilometres from downtown, and the Casa Taino, which is 35 kilometres away. Make sure you explore all your options by also having a look at the Reconquista, 30 kilometres away.

Everyone knows Aussies are pretty relaxed, so consider hanging round a little longer and going to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady of Benilloba and Plaza de Espana in Cocentaina, 25 kilometres to the southeast of Canals. If you're keen to spend a night or two in Cocentaina, consider the Torreta de Sant Tomas and Hostal Savoy. 30 kilometres to the south of Canals you'll also find Alcoy, home to the Masia La Mota and Casa Bons Aires - Adults Only. Whether you're shooting through or staying in Alcoy, be sure to check out Church of Santa Maria and the Camil Visedo Molto Archaeological Museum.

Sitting 35 kilometres to the east of Canals is Gandia, a regional hub with a population of 80,000. It's where you'll find some awesome attractions, like Gandia Marina, the Gandia Golf Club and the Archaeological Museum of Gandia.
