I stayed two times in this hotel. First time was ok, spacious room, old but clean. Breakfast was good enough. Second time I asked for a walk in shower if possible and I got a walk in shower in a huge room on the 7th floor with two balconies with a great view, but the tv wasn’t programmed, the balcony door got stuck and my friend was almost locked outside, the tea kettle leaked water all over the counter, and the room door lock mechanism didn’t work properly (took many tries each time), their dryer broke and my laundry was late coming back. This hotel needs some serious updating.

The staff were always very cheerful even though they were constantly busy. Just over 1km walk to downtown and the docks to depart to Great Barrier Reef. If you like cheap eats like me, I enjoyed walking to Roti Shack for a yummy roti (Caribbean savory wrap) and wish I did it more than once.

I felt “catfished” by this hotel. It looked really nice in the pictures, but the rooms were super dingy. I had tiny bugs in my bathroom, the tiles were cracked, the shower curtain had mold…I didn’t get in until late, and called the front desk who said they would send someone up to address the issues. No one came. The next morning, I went to the front desk and told them and they did address the shower curtain and I didn’t see bugs after that. The staff were very friendly and kind - and the area is beautiful. The restaurant was convenient as well.
