This hotel may have been very grand a very long time ago. There's a shabbiness and a sort of faded elegance about the place. I was not comfortable here, To be quite honest the place gave me the creeps and it put me in mind of the Overlook hotel from the movie The Shining. The hotel is very wide, so there was a long, long walk from the elevator to my room; they do not have bellhops available. For a hotel of this size, I would expect a bellhop to help me with my luggage. I was not impressed and I would not stay here again.

I think that this was a 5-star hotel but it didn’t keep up that standard and it becomes an old hotel. As a gold member of Expedia, I would get 20 euro credit for “food and drink” but I was told that breakfast is NOT “food” therefore I could not use 20 euro credit towards a breakfast. Beware the hotel may not honour whatever promised.

Excellent property, big rooms and big bathrooms, breakfast was great !! Location is perfect , not too close from the very busy downtown but walking distance to it !! This hotel was probably one of the majestic hotels of Bologna. Highly recommended.

Our stay was wonderful due to friendly staff. Our room which was a suite was not . The couch was stained , white curtain behind the desk dirty along with the glass door. The carpet was worn torn in some areas and the shower needs a serious update. The drain in the shower did not drain well with standing water after the shower . Again it was close to main points and the staff was great !

Excellent hotel in a great location. The main attractions of central Bologna are within walking distance and it’s just 5-10 minutes walk to the Bologna Centrale train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice. Thank you.

Upscale Hotel in Bologna

Very spacious and luxurious room. Great restaurant: that had food even on Christmas day. Close to the Cental Station. Historic center is walkable. Breakfast is impressive.

Beautiful old world hotel

It’s a beautiful old world style hotel. It’s comfy and has great service, also very old fashioned in a good way. Just how you expect a luxury hotel to be. Only problem is its aging and the cleanliness isn’t quite up to par, stuff like some grungy spots in the bathroom, doors that have water damage, etc. I absolutely enjoyed my stay thoroughly though. If they invest a little in renovations and sprucing it up it will be incredible. Id stay there again.

Great short stay

Our room was enormous and very comfortable, with everything we needed. The staff on reception was helpful and friendly. Close to the historic center of town, and to the train station as well.
