Things to Do in Bogotá

Start your holiday in Bogotá at the very top. Monserrate Mountain looks out over the city centre from the east side of town. Once you reach the summit, you can catch your breath at a 17th-century church and reward your efforts with treats from local cafes and shops. (Psst! On both sides you’ll find generations of brilliant street art that feels more like an avant-garde gallery than an ancient food path.

It’s hard to take a Bogotá holiday without bringing home heaps of warm woollen ponchos and woven hats and slippers. Look in the city centre for handmade goods that will set your look apart from your friends back home. For open-air vibes and flea market finds, go uptown to Mercado de las Pulgas de Usaquen and wander between vendors surrounded by colonial architecture.

You won’t go hungry on any street, in any district of Bogotá. Trust us: Colombians take food very seriously.
