My wife and I always stay at this location while on our way to Destin for vacation. I booked the reservation in January and we were to check in on May 15 at 4 o’clock. After driving four hours once we arrived we were told that our room was being cleaned. Two hours later we were told it’s not available and were offered a room with two queens and an handicapped shower. In all my travels I have never witnessed such incompetency. When I contacted Hilton customer services they empathized with my situation and informed me that several clients had extended their stay and there were no rooms available. So to make matters worse, I was told a lie when they could’ve called me the day before, and explained the circumstances so we could have made other arrangements. As a concession they offered complementary drinks at the bar, which was an insult. Quite frankly, it only escalated matters. The front desk told us this sometimes happen when you book a reservation through a third-party and not through the actual Hilton hotel. I have never heard such a thing. We were finally offered a suite and were told we would be reimbursed $40 and a complimentary breakfast both of which never happened. Before our departure my wife went to talk to the manager who seemed put off with the conversation and told my wife we got free drinks. I would never expect such an experience at a Hilton Hotel.
To be blatantly lied to and treated in such a disrespectful manner is unacceptable at any hotel.
