Been burning the candle at both ends? Desperate for a break and a few quiet nights? Beška might just be the ticket. It's set among the forests, rivers, streams and mountains of Serbia — nice and off the well-worn tourist trail. (We bet you'll feel so relaxed, you'll be under the covers by sunset!)

Belgrade is one of the most significant cities in Serbia, and it's easily accessible from Beška. You'll find it around 45 kilometres to the southeast.

You won't have to go too far to find some nice natural sights. Grab your car keys and make your way to Ada Ciganlija, 45 kilometres away from Beška, for a relaxed day. Or maybe Fruska Gora National Park tickles your fancy? It's situated just 25 kilometres away.

Be sure to pack some red clothing so you can support the local soccer team, the FK Vojvodina, at Karadorde Stadium. Located 20 kilometres away in Novi Sad, the stadium is also the home ground of the FK Donji Srem.

Remember to visit other close-by attractions, such as Petrovaradin Fortress and Petrovaradin Citadel. You will find them 12 kilometres northwest in Sremski Karlovci. Don't want to give back the rental car just yet? Novo Hopovo Monastery and Krusedol Monastery are in Irig, 17 kilometres to the west of Beška.

You may have the urge to book a room in Novi Sad for a bit. This destination is 20 kilometres away and pretty close to the University of Novi Sad, Church of the Virgin Mary and the Serbian National Theatre. Other nearby sights are the Vojvodina Museum and Cathedral - St. Mary.
